In February 2019, Weir et al., published a paper usingWDC-collected photo-identification data and Shorewatch-collected sightings data to demonstrate the importance of this proposed Marine Protected Area for Risso's dolphins.  The Shorewatch data highlighted that Risso's dolphins are present year-round and can be seen with calves between April and October.  Photo-ID data demonstrated 'site fidelity' with individuals being photograhed returning to the site both within a single year and across the period of study.  See the attached paper for a full read.
